Internet-Based Consulting offers
CDCI Clients
Immediate Solutions
ATLANTA, GA - August 18, 2000 - Construction Data Control, Inc. (CDCI),
designer and developer of construction management
software, announces Internet-Based Consulting
(IBC), a new option for software training.
Distance training via the Web offers CDCI
clients convenience at a reasonable price.
This time and cost efficient alternative
is suggestive for clients who need to train
new employees with their software or for
those clients who desire supplemental consulting.
Internet-Based Consulting uses
Microsoft's
NetMeeting to conduct the online
training
sessions. This technology gives
both parties
access to the same screen while
allowing
them to alternate between control
of the
program. Instead of using sample,
hypothetical
company data, our training is
conducted using
the client's company data. This
feature is
particularly useful because the
consultant
is able to immediately observe
and pinpoint
any procedural errors and then
directly inquire
about their concerns on site
with their trainer.
"Our clients have indicated that there
is a need for short and immediate training
sessions. Many times an office may hire a
new AP Clerk or Junior Estimator. Travel
costs for training can quickly deter a company
from properly training a new employee, especially
with the amount of turnover that exists in
the market today," comments Phil Zenner, CDCI Training Manager. "IBC provides
the perfect alternative to bringing new employees
up to speed at a low cost."
Internet-Based Consulting, or
IBC, gives
CDCI clients access to immediate
training
sessions in hourly increments.
CDCI's entry-level
systems are also intuitive and
do not require
multiple days of training. Training
in these
short, Web-like sessions increases
learning
retention. Learning is also reinforced
when
training is supplemented with
the client's
actual data. With the advantages
of familiarity
and repetition, clients are able
to learn
more on their next visit. All
of this contributes
to the client returning to the
office feeling
more assured and efficient when
they test
out their new skills on their
own.
With IBC, clients can spend a
few hours with
a CDCI Consultant on the specific
issues
they would like to address. Most
clients
generally enroll in an onsite
or classroom
training session prior to implementing
a
new high-end accounting or estimating
software
system. However, many times a
client can
benefit from one-on-one consulting
that targets
specific procedures, such as
Union payroll
setup or a month-end closing
procedure. These
two training tools combined take
user efficiency
to the next level.
Pam Bertino is enthusiastic about IBC as she comments
that she would definitely recommend this
training program because of its convenience
and level of support. She adds that her on
line trainer was "excellent," and that the patient and simple fashion
in which she was taught left her with a "better understanding of the software
and more comfortable with CDCI."
